Ski & Snowboard Lessons for All Ages
3 different ski & snowboard classes, for 3 different types of heroes.
Yeti School
Yeti School parent-child classes introduce snowboarding and ski lessons to children ages 1 to 3 years. This program is an opportunity for kids to discover there’s more than just playing in the snow.
In each ski class, kids will participate in three stations:
- Ski lessons
- Snowboard lessons
- Kiddie “dry land training”
These indoor kids ski lessons focus on balance and strength training. Yetis also rock out during the opening circle song, practice coordination in the warm-up, and have tons of fun learning in a fun and safe environment.
Little Shredders
Time to take some indoor ski classes that teach the fundamentals! Little Shredders is ideal for children ages 3 to 5 years.
Learning to ski and snowboard can take time. Even after a few lessons, consistent practice is important to strengthen skills and maintain long-term interest.
Little Shredders indoor ski school lessons are designed to introduce and strengthen skiing and snowboarding fundamentals for children of all ability levels.
Shredder’s indoor ski and snowboard arenas make practice and repetition possible year-round. This enables kids to gain more confidence, progress faster on the mountain, and maximize time with their families.
Ski School & Snowboard School
Our professionally developed Ski and Snowboarding lessons curriculum focuses more on the technical aspects of skiing and riding, since these kids are typically more physically independent. Ski School and Snowboard School are ideal for children ages 5 to 10 years.
In addition to learning advanced skiing and boarding skills, these shredders learn about mountain safety, practice simulating getting on and off a chairlift, and much more.
Ski and indoor snowboarding classes participants also work on athletic development and coordination while in their gear. These indoor ski lessons have it all and that is how we aim to be one of the best ski schools in colorado

Yeti School
Age
1 – 3 years.
Group size
5 kids per class start time, one or two adults permitted to participate per child.
Duration
40 minute class (one class per week).
Little Shredders
Age
3 – 5 years.
Group size
4 kids per class time (Little Shredders: Ski).
3 kids per class time (Little Shredders: Snowboard).
Drop-off only – parents may remain in the lobby or leave and return for pick-up.

Indoor Skiing Lessons at Shredder Get Kids on the Slopes
Whether your kid is new to the slopes or has a few years of practice, Shredder’s indoor skiing lessons and snowboard clinics help them build and refine their individual skills, overall ability and self-confidence.
- Qualified instructors give attention to each student, getting to know them individually and working on their specific needs.
- A variety of indoor slope sizes offer opportunities for kids to safely practice at and advance to varying levels of difficulty.

What do Kids Learn at Indoor Ski Lessons?
Shredder’s 5 or 10-week curriculum for snowboard and ski lessons starts with safety and ends with a free ski and fun graduation celebration. Each lesson in the program is based on our SHRED Code, with themes and values that honor individual skiiers, boarders and the terrain they’re shredding.
Early skiing lessons highlight balance and stance, which build coordination and form the foundation of good technique. Experienced ski and snowboard athletes understand how much the human body does during a downhill experience – Shredder instructors help kids learn and understand how to use their arms, legs, hands, feet, core and more to stay upright and move safely.
Kids indoor ski training cover important elements of the sport, kids practice on dry land before hitting our innovative indoor slopes for a realistic hill experience.

In Ski and Snowboarding Lessons Equipment Matter!
Did you know that the equipment for ski and snowboarding lessons should be sized to roughly shoulder height? And ski boots should fit snugly without being too tight? Before the snowboard or skiing lessons begin, the instructors take time to make sure each kid’s equipment is a good match for their age and height. This can be especially important for kids using pass-along equipment from an older sibling or friend.
How do Indoor Skiing Lessons Work?
Our marvelous Colorado mountains can’t offer year-round skiing or snowboarding, but Shredder can! When searching for the best ski schools for kids in colorado take into account that our indoor slopes are designed to mimic the mountains in a safe, and smaller setting.
Our slopes are constructed with an artificial turf material that, when misted with a light layer of water, allows skis to slide and shape, emulating snow! Instructors and parents are not in ski gear and can move comfortably around on the hill, spotting children to help them control their speed and shaping. No special attire is needed in our climate-controlled facilities – just comfortable clothes.
